Please note that in North Carolina, we may not disburse until the documents are recorded at the Register of Deeds. If you are getting a loan, your lender will require both.  Otherwise, you may have the option to not have a title search done or title insurance obtained.  Our law firm always suggests that you proceed only with a title search and title insurance and will be happy to discuss your particular situation with you.
